H.M.S. Bangor fittings for scale model builders.
The Bangor-class minesweepers were developed during the early years of the Second World War, when the Royal Navy faced an urgent shortage of both minesweeping and convoy escort vessels.
To meet this demand, the Admiralty introduced simpler designs that could be built quickly and in greater numbers. The escort vessel design became the well-known Flower-class corvette, while the minesweeping design resulted in the Bangor class.
Shorter than the pre-war Halcyon-class minesweeping sloops, the Bangor-class vessels had a distinctive, compact appearance, with relatively high, slab-sided hulls. Despite their small size, they served across the world and performed valuable duties in both minesweeping and convoy escort roles.

Bangor-Class Minesweeper Hull
The Bangor-class minesweeper hull is moulded in white GRP and features detailed plating to represent the construction of the original vessel.
To assist with assembly, the hull includes moulded markings showing the positions of the shaft outlets, A-frames and rudders.
This provides a starting point for building a detailed model of a Second World War Royal Navy minesweeper.
