HMS Algerine Fittings
The Algerine class of fleet minesweepers was designed in September 1940 and represented the largest class of minesweeper built for the Royal Navy. The design incorporated the fleet’s known minesweeping requirements, while also allowing the ships to serve as convoy escort vessels when specialist escort ships were unavailable.
Algerine-class ships served in all operational theatres during the Second World War. Following the war, many were transferred or sold to Commonwealth and foreign navies.

The hull is moulded in white GRP and includes authentic plating detail. Positions for the shaft outlets, A-frame, rudder and bilge keels are moulded into the hull to assist with model construction.
